How to offer Multibanco payments in systeme.io
In this article, you will learn how to activate Multibanco payments for your funnels.
Multibanco is a widely used payment method in Portugal that offers customers an alternative way to pay without entering card details directly at checkout. Instead, customers receive a payment reference generated by Stripe, which they can use to complete the payment through their banking app, online banking, or at an ATM.
To get started, you will need:
- A systeme.io account
- A Stripe account connected to systeme.io (How to connect your Stripe account to systeme.io)
1. Setup process
You can activate Multibanco payments in systeme.io via Stripe. To enable this feature, ensure you have configured the following settings:
a. Enable Multibanco
On your Stripe dashboard, click on Settings (1).

Then click Payments (2).

Then click Payment methods (3).

Scroll down to Multibanco and enable it by clicking Disabled (4), then Enable (5).

b. Ensure the selected currency on your funnel is supported by Multibanco
To use Multibanco successfully, the selected currency on your funnel must be supported. Currently, Multibanco only supports the Euro (EUR).
2. Activating Multibanco in your funnel
Once Multibanco is enabled in your Stripe account and you are using a supported currency, the Multibanco option will automatically appear in your funnel settings.
To offer Multibanco on your payment pages, go to your funnel and click Settings (1).
Check the Multibanco (Stripe) box (2), and click Save (3).

Multibanco will now appear as an option on your order form!
