In this article, you will learn how to activate payments by iDEAL and Bancontact.
To get started, you will need:
- A systeme.io account
- A Stripe account with iDEAL and Bancontact enabled.
1. Setup process
In systeme.io, it is possible to activate payments with iDEAL and BanContact using Stripe.
To activate this feature, ensure you have configured the following settings in your Stripe account:
- iDEAL and BanContact are integrated
- SEPA Direct Debit is enabled
- The account is integrated with systeme.io
After iDEAL and BanContact are integrated and SEPA Direct Debit is enabled, iDEAL and BanContact options will automatically become available in the Funnel settings.
Check the boxes for iDEAL and Bancontact and click Save. These options will now appear on your order form.
2. Supported currencies and restrictions
Before receiving payments, ensure your funnels and products are set up using the supported currency for these payment methods.
Both iDEAL and Bancontact are processed via Stripe. Below are the specific rules and restrictions for each method:
a. iDEAL (via Stripe)
- Supported buyers: Netherlands (NL)
- Recurring payments (subscriptions): Yes, processed via SEPA mandate (SEPA Direct Debit must be enabled in your Stripe account).
- Supported currencies: EUR only.
- Merchant restrictions: None.
b. Bancontact (via Stripe)
- Supported buyers: Belgium (BE)
- Recurring payments (subscriptions): Yes, processed via SEPA mandate (SEPA Direct Debit must be enabled in your Stripe account).
- Supported currencies: EUR only.
- Merchant restrictions: None.
Note: For Bancontact payments to work properly, the Email and First Name fields are mandatory on your payment pages.
