How to create a Google Postmaster Tool account for your domain

To gain insights into your Gmail-related details, such as delivery errors and spam reports, you need to create a Google Postmaster Tool (GPT) account, verify your domain, and grant our team access to your data.

1. How to create a GPT account and verify your domain name:

To use Google Postmaster Tool, you must have a Google Account. If you don’t have a Google Account, please create one.

Once you are logged in to your Google account, you must verify your domain name. To do so, please go to the bottom right, and click "Add".

In the popup that appears, enter the domain to verify, then click "Next".

Copy the value of the TXT record from the popup so that it can be added to your DNS configuration.

In your hosting provider configuration, scroll to Manage DNS records and select TXT from the drop-down list.

In the TXT value field, paste the verification code you copied from the setup tool.

Click "Add record" to validate and save the new DNS record.

In your GPT account, click "Verify" to complete the domain verification.

2. How to grant us access to your GPT data:

You can provide our team access to Google Postmaster Tool data in two ways. The first is to share access to each domain by adding us as a user. This works best if you want to share only a few domains. The second is to authorize us to read Postmaster Tool data from your account. This works best if you want to give access to all domains in your account, also domains that are added in the future.

a) Share domain access

Use this method if you want to give access to a few domains or a specific domain in your Postmaster Tool account.

Access to domain data can be given as follows:

  • Sign in to Postmaster Tool
  • Click on the 3 dots, then click on "Manage Users"

  • At the bottom right click Add +, then in the popup menu enter the email address "admin (at) postmastery.net "

b) Authorize API access

Use this method if you want to give access to all domains in your Google Postmaster Tool account.

Access to data from all domains can be granted by providing consent with the form on Google Postmaster Tool Access.

Simply add the email address of your Google account to provide us access to your Google Postmaster Tool data.
