How to add images to your emails

In this article, you will learn how you can insert an image into the body of an email.

You will need:

  • a systeme.io account
  • an email to send (Newsletter, email campaign, or other)

1. Classic email editor

1.1 Adding an image from an image hosting site

Go to the site where your image is hosted and copy the provided link.

In the email editor

Click on the arrow (number 1 in the image), paste the image link into the "Insert image via URL" field (number 2 in the image), then click on "Insert" (number 3 in the image).

1.2 Uploading an image from your files:
Click on the image icon to select an image from your files (number 4 in the image).

After your image has been uploaded and added to your email, you can:

  • Change the alternate text
  • Toggle the caption
  • Change the alignment (inline, centered, left or right)
  • Make it clickable by adding a link

The image can be resized by clicking and dragging its corners. When resizing, a percentage will be displayed to indicate the extent to which the image fills the email page.

2. Visual email editor

In the visual email editor, drag and drop the image element on the content editor of your page (number 5 in the image).

In the left pane of the editor, you will see 3 important configurations to complete adding an image to your email:
  1. To upload a file from your device, click on the cloud-shaped icon (number 6 in the image).
  2. If your file is already hosted on a particular server, paste the link in the URL field (number 7 in the image).
  3. Change the size of the image (number 8 in the image).

Finally, click on "Save changes" in the email editor (number 9 in the image).
