What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Search Engine Optimization, commonly referred to as SEO, is the process of improving your page's visibility and ranking in search engine results.

In systeme.io, there are six (6) essential elements that you can customize directly from each page's editor:

  1. Title (1).
  2. Description (2).
  3. Keywords (3).
  4. Author (4).
  5. Social media image (5).
  6. Hide from search engines (6).

How to access the SEO section?

To access the SEO section, follow these steps:

Navigate to the page editor (7).

On the left panel, click on Settings (8). Scroll down to the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) section (9).

1) Title:

The title you enter in this field will be displayed as the page title on your visitor's browser tab. It also serves as the title of the page when shared on social media (10).

2) Description:

The description you provide in this section is the one that appears when you share your page on social media (11).

Let's illustrate this with an example by sharing the link to the test page on Facebook and observing the result:

3) keywords:

The purpose of setting keywords for SEO is to link your page to specific terms people search for online. When users search using these keywords, your page is more likely to appear in their results.

Note: To add multiple keywords, separate each word with a comma.

4) Author:

This field displays the author's name.

5) Social media image:
The image intended for social media is the one that is displayed when your page link is shared.
To insert this image, click the upload icon (12).

6) Hide page from search engines:

By default, your pages will appear during searches on search engines. However, if you do not want your page to appear in search engine results, check the Hide from search engines box (13).

Important: Google crawlers use your sitemap.xml to find and index your pages. If you disable indexing for a page, Google won't index it. After re-enabling it, you must manually request indexing in Google Search Console to ensure the changes are applied.
