How to delete bounced contacts
On this page, we'll walk you through the process of identifying and deleting contacts with the “Bounced” status in your account.
What you will need:
- An active systeme.io account.
- An existing contact list in which some contacts may have the "Bounced" status.
- At least one contact with the "Bounced" status to follow the example.
Step 1: Access your contacts
Navigate to the CRM tab and click Contacts (1) in the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Filter bounced contacts
Click the Contact state filter (2) and select Bounced (3). The list will now display only your bounced contacts.
This will display only the contacts whose emails could not be delivered. This way, you can easily view all the contacts to delete or manage.

Step 3: Delete bounced contacts
Select all bounced contacts by clicking the checkbox (4), then click Delete (5).

Step 4: Confirm deletion
Finally, click Confirm (6) to delete the contact/contacts from your list.

Tip: Before deleting your contacts, ensure they are truly unusable (hard bounce) and that you do not wish to attempt contacting them again to avoid losing valid contacts by mistake.
Deleting contacts with the "Bounced" status is an essential step to maintain the quality of your list and ensure better deliverability of your emails. By keeping your contact base clean, you reduce the risk of bounces, improve your sender reputation, and maximize the effectiveness of your campaigns.
