How to manage your contacts with the systeme.io MCP server
In this article, you will learn how to manage your systeme.io contacts using natural language through our native MCP server. By connecting an AI tool like ChatGPT or Claude, you can add, update, and organize your contacts seamlessly without leaving your chat window.
What you will need:
- A systeme.io account
- An MCP key generated from your systeme.io account (How to use the systeme.io MCP server (Model Context Protocol))
- An AI tool connected to your systeme.io account using MCP keys:
Once your AI tool is connected to the systeme.io MCP server, you can manage your contacts using simple, natural language prompts.
Note: The examples below use Claude, but the actions and prompts work the exact same way if you are using ChatGPT.
1. Managing contacts
The MCP server allows you to perform basic actions on your contacts directly from the chat. Provide the required details (such as an email address) and specify the action you want to perform.
a. Create a contact: You can ask the AI to add a new contact to your list.
Example: Create the following contact: John Doe, systemeio.help.demo@gmail.com, (202) 555-0123.


b. Update a contact: If you need to change a contact's information, simply provide the contact's email and the new details to the AI.
Example: Update contact for systemeio.help.demo@gmail.com, change their name to "Jade" and the phone number to "+12345678."


c. List and retrieve contacts: You can use the AI to filter your lists or fetch specific contact details without searching through your dashboard manually.
Example: List the last 3 contacts.

Or: Find the contact with the email systemeio.help.demo@gmail.com.

d. Delete a contact: Instruct the AI to remove a contact from your systeme.io contact list.
Example: Remove contact with email systemeio.help.demo@gmail.com.


2. Managing tags
Tags help you organize your contacts, and you can manage them completely through the AI chat.
a. Create, update, or delete tags: Tell the AI to create a new tag, change an existing tag's name, or delete a tag you no longer need.
Example: Create a new tag named 'New Leads'.


b. List tags: You can ask the AI to retrieve and display a list of all your currently existing tags.
Example: List all my tags.

c. Assign tags: You can instruct the AI to manage the tags assigned to specific contacts.
Example: Assign the tag 'New Leads' to the contact systemeio.help.demo@gmail.com.


4. Contact fields (Custom fields)
The AI can list your available contact fields and their slugs, allowing you to use them when searching for or updating contacts.
Example: List my available contact fields and their slugs.

Notes:
- The MCP server actions described above are available on all systeme.io plans.
- The AI will require confirmation prompts depending on the platform you use (for example, ChatGPT may ask for permission to run the action before creating or deleting a contact).
