How to restore deleted contacts

In this article, you will learn how to locate and restore deleted contacts in your systeme.io account

What you will need:

  • A systeme.io account
  • At least one recently deleted contact

Note: Deleted contacts are kept for 30 days before being permanently removed.

1. Restoring deleted contacts

To restore your deleted contacts, click Contacts (1) in the CRM menu.

Click Recently deleted (2) on your Contacts page.

Once in the deleted contacts bin, you’ll see a list of recently deleted contacts along with their deletion date, email address, removal method, and the date they’ll be permanently deleted.

You can manually select the contact(s) you want to restore (3) or use the filters (Email, Deleted date, Removal method) on the left to find them easily (4). Then, click Restore (5).

Note: If the permanent deletion date displays "Not applicable," it means the contact still has access to courses or communities and will not be permanently deleted from the system until that access is removed.

2. Tracking deleted contacts from the dashboard

You can also track deleted contacts directly from your main dashboard, without navigating to your contact list first.

In the sidebar, hover your mouse over a contact's email address to see their current status. If the contact has been deleted, a tooltip will appear showing:

  • Contact removed: A status indicating the contact was deleted.
  • Date of removal: The exact date the contact was deleted.

If you need to manage or recover the contact, click the email address in the Live updates feed. You will be redirected immediately to the Recently deleted page (Bin), where you can view all the information mentioned above and use the Restore button if needed.
