How to manage your automation rules with the systeme.io MCP server

In this article, you will learn how to manage your systeme.io automation rules using natural language through our native MCP server. By connecting an AI tool like ChatGPT or Claude, you can easily create and retrieve simple automation rules to connect common events and actions without configuring them manually in your dashboard.

What you will need:

Managing automation rules

The MCP server allows you to perform basic actions on your automation rules directly from the chat. You just need to specify the trigger and the action you want the rule to execute.

a. Create an automation rule: You can ask the AI to generate a brand new automation rule in your account. Currently, the MCP server supports the following specific triggers:

  • Tag added
  • Tag removed
  • Funnel form subscribed

And the following actions:

  • Add a tag
  • Remove a tag

Example: Create an automation rule that adds the tag "New Lead" when someone subscribes to the "Summer campaign" funnel form.

b. List and retrieve automation rules: You can use the AI to browse through your existing automation rules without having to navigate through your dashboard manually.

Example: List my recent automation rules.

Notes:

  • Limitations: The current release supports creating automation rules with a limited set of triggers and actions (more options will be introduced progressively). Modifying (editing) and deleting automation rules are not supported at this time but will be added soon.
  • The AI will require confirmation prompts depending on the platform you use (for example, ChatGPT may ask for permission to run the action before creating a rule).
