How to view and download customer consent records

In this article, you will learn how to access and download your customers' consent records.

This feature allows you to view the exact proof of consent gathered from checkboxes on your order forms and upsell pages, giving you all the necessary information to quickly and efficiently handle potential customer disputes.

What you will need:

  • A systeme.io account
  • At least one processed transaction

To view a customer's consent record, navigate to your main dashboard, hover over the Sales tab, and click Transactions (1).

Locate the specific transaction you want to review. Click the three dots (...) next to the transaction details and select Customer consent record (2).

A popup window will open displaying the consent proof details. This modal contains the exact information recorded at the time the customer made the purchase:

  • Consent method (3): The way consent was given.
  • Checkbox text (4): The exact text shown to the user at the time of consent.
  • Email (5): The customer's email address.
  • Date and time (6): The exact date and time the consent was recorded.
  • User agent (7): The browser and device used by the customer.
  • IP address (8): The customer's IP address.
  • Order form URL (9): The link to the specific order form or upsell page where the consent was given.
  • Checkbox ID (10): The unique identifier of the checkbox element.

If you need a copy of this information for a dispute or for your own records, simply click the Download PDF (11) button at the bottom of the popup to save a document containing all the displayed details.

Note: If no consent record is available for a specific transaction, the popup will display an explanatory message instead of the consent data. This usually happens in the following cases:

  • The transaction was processed before this tracking feature was introduced to systeme.io, so the consent was never recorded.
  • There was no checkbox present on the payment page or upsell page for that transaction.
  • The checkbox was present on the page but was set as optional, and the customer did not select it.
