How to create a blog category

In this article, you will learn how to create a blog category in systeme.io.

What you need:

• A systeme.io account
• A blog

Navigating to the blog categories section

Go to the Blogs (1) on the Sites tab, then click on your blog's name (2).

From your Blog's menu, go to the Categories section (3) to display all categories. 

Renaming and deleting existing categories

When you first created your blog, three categories were automatically created with default names. To rename the category, click on the 3 dots (...) and then on Settings (4). To delete the category, click on Delete (5).

Creating a new category

To create a new blog category, click on the Create button (6). Complete the following fields in the popup that is displayed:

• Name (7): Enter the name of the category. This will be used as the title of the category page.
• Path (8): Define the URL path for your new category.
• Description (9): Provide a short description of the category.
• SEO title (10): Enter the page title that will be displayed in search engine results.
• SEO description (11): Add the meta description that summarizes the content of the category page.
• Save (12): Click this button to save and create the new category.

Adding categories to a post

To add or change a category for an existing post, go to the Posts section (13), click on the three dots, then click on Settings (14).

In your post settings, check the box (15) for the category you want to assign, then click Save (16) to apply the changes.
