Understanding affiliate link tracking
We sometimes receive questions about affiliate commissions that have not been assigned to the right person.
Reminder: The systeme.io affiliate program assigns the affiliate at the moment the customer registers with an affiliate link. From that moment, the affiliation is fixed and will not change, even if the customer later clicks on another affiliate link.

Someone clicks on the link of Affiliate A and signs up for a free account at systeme.io. Three weeks later, that person subscribes to a paid plan directly through their systeme.io dashboard.
Result: Affiliate A will be credited with the sale because the affiliation was locked in when the account was created.
Later, Affiliate B sends a direct link to a payment page to that same customer. The customer clicks it and makes a purchase.
Result: Affiliate B will receive the commission from the sale, even though the contact initially used another affiliate's link to sign up for the free plan. That's because the customer used Affiliate B’s link to one of our payment pages.
How our system ensures fairness
Our affiliate program is designed to reward affiliates at two key moments: referring a new user and closing a sale. This ensures everyone's efforts are valued.
- Protecting the first referral: The affiliate who refers a customer for a free account is locked in. They automatically receive the commission if that customer upgrades later from their dashboard. This protects your initial hard work.
- Rewarding the sale: You can still earn a commission even if a customer was first referred by someone else. If they purchase a plan using your affiliate link to a payment page, you get the commission for that specific sale. This rewards your effort in converting a lead into a paying customer.

To ensure you're credited, make sure your lead either signs up for their account or purchases their plan through your unique affiliate link.
