How to authenticate your domain name on LWS
This article will show you how to set up domain authentication on LWS.
What you'll need:
- A systeme.io account
- A domain name on LWS
Case 1: You send your emails with systeme.io
Step 1: Log in to your systeme.io account
Go to your Profile Picture and click on Settings (1), then Emails (2).

Navigate to the Domains section, then click on Click here to authenticate your domain name and display its information in your email header, which will help improve your email deliverability (3).

A popup will appear. Enter your domain name without the www (e.g., team-sio.fr) (4).
Once you've entered your domain name, click Save (5) to generate the three CNAME records. These CNAME records will appear in a new popup.

You will see three CNAME records and one TXT record that must be added for your domain to be authenticated. To learn more about adding DMARC records, click here.

IMPORTANT:
- Domain authentication is required to send emails from systeme.io.
- The domain name you want to authenticate must be active. This means that entering the URL in a browser should load a working webpage, not an error page. Otherwise, receiving servers may block your emails.
Example: the website sio-team.org must be functional; when you send emails from this domain's email address, your contacts may not receive your emails due to server blocking.
3. It is not possible to authenticate a domain name from a personal email address like Gmail, Yahoo, Protonmail, etc. You can only authenticate a custom domain name.
Step 2: On your hosting account
You must add these CNAME records to your host's DNS settings.
To do this, go to the DNS Settings to edit the DNS zone of your domain name.
Note: If you can't find these settings, please contact your host's support team for assistance.
Log in to your LWS account by clicking here.
- Once logged in, Click Manage next to your domain to open its settings.

- Go to the Domain Management section, then to DNS Zone for your domain name.

- Select the CNAME option to add the first 3 records.

You will have form fields to fill in:
- Go back to the list of CNAME records you generated on your systeme.io account to copy what is shown in the screenshot below.
- In the Name field, paste only the characters that appear before your domain name (the subdomain).
In our example, we need to enter si942517

- In the Value field, paste the value provided by systeme.io and append a period (.) at the end.
In our example, we need to enter inbound.systeme.io.

Your entries in the DNS zone should look like this (these values are examples):
Name: si942517 Value: inbound.systeme.io.
Name: systemeio1._domainkey Value: key1.systeme.io.
Name: systemeio2._domainkey Value: key2.systeme.io.
- Click the Add button to save.

Note: You have three CNAME records, so you need to perform this operation three times, once for each CNAME.
- Choose the TXT DNS record type to add the DMARC record.

- Go back to the record list to add the TXT record generated on your systeme.io account and copy what is shown in the image below:

Here is how each line to add to your hosting provider's DNS zone will look (these values are examples):
Name: _dmarc
Value: v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:exemple@gmail.com
- Click the Add button to save.

- Verify that your CNAME records are properly configured on this site: DNS checker
If the result is green for all three CNAME records, this means your domain has been successfully authenticated. Please contact support to finalize the verification.
CNAME 01 verification:

CNAME 02 verification:

CNAME 03 verification:

However, if any of your CNAME records appear red, please review the steps above and verify that there are no errors in your DNS records at your hosting provider.

In this case, if you can't resolve the issue yourself, you should also contact support and include a screenshot of your DNS settings so our team can assist you.
Note: In all cases, you must contact support after completing the setup.
- Verify that your DMARC record has been properly added by searching with your domain name on the site dmarc.aspxhttps://mxtoolbox.com/

IMPORTANT NOTE: To send emails with the domain name you just authenticated, you must confirm your domain's sender email address by following the steps described in the article How to confirm your email sender address.
Case 2: Using your own SendGrid account
If you use your own SendGrid account to send emails and do not use systeme.io’s autoresponder, we recommend contacting SendGrid support for instructions on authenticating your domain with LWS to improve email deliverability.
