How to report and moderate content in communities
In this article, you will learn how the moderation tools work in systeme.io communities.
This feature allows community members to report inappropriate posts or comments. It also provides community owners and moderators with a dedicated workspace to review these reports, manage content, and track their past moderation decisions.
What you will need:
A systeme.io account
An active community
1. Members' side: Reporting posts and comments
Community members can report any post or comment they find inappropriate directly.
To access the list of communities you are a member of, use the following direct link: https://help-articles.systeme.io/community, then click Open (1) next to the community you want to access.

To report a post or comment, click on the three dots (...) next to the content and select Report post (2).

or Report comment (3).

A popup will appear. Select the reason that best describes the issue (4). If you select Other (5), you can provide additional written details. Once done, click Send (6).

Note: If a post or comment is reported 3 or more times, it is automatically hidden from the community. It will remain hidden until a moderator reviews the reports and takes action.
2. Owners and moderators' side: Managing reports
When content is reported, owners and moderators can review it from a dedicated Moderation alerts dashboard.
To access your community as an owner, hover over Assets and select Communities (1). Click on the name of your community to open it (2).

In the left-hand menu, we have:
a. Moderation alerts (3): This tab is where all pending reports submitted by your members are gathered so you can review them and decide what action to take.

Reports are organized into Posts and Comments tabs (4). You can also sort reported content by using the toggle shown in the top right, choosing 'More reports up' to see the most reported items first, or 'Less reports up' to see the least reported items first.

For each reported item, you will see the total number of reports received along with the following information:
Snapshot (5): A clickable link that opens an automatic snapshot of the content at the exact moment it was reported. This allows you to review the original content, even if the author edited it afterward.
Violation (6): The specific reason chosen by the member when reporting the content.
Comment (7): The comment provided by the reporter when they select “Other” as the report reason.
Reporter (8): The name of the community member who submitted the report.
Date (9): The exact date and time the report was submitted.

From this page, you can also take action by clicking on one of the corresponding icons on the right side of the report:
Ignore (eye icon with a slash) (10): Dismisses the report and leaves the content active.
Remove (X icon) (11): Deletes the reported post or comment.
Remove and ban (block icon) (12): Deletes the content and permanently bans the user from your community.

b. Moderation history (13): This tab acts as an archive of all the past decisions you and your moderators have made regarding reported content; once a decision is made on a reported item, it is automatically moved here.

The moderation history keeps the original report context and snapshots intact. You can use the available filters at the top to easily find past decisions:
Moderator (14): Filter the moderation history by who took the action.
Sort order (15): Sort reports by all reports or oldest first.
Decision (16): Filter reports by the action taken: Ignored, Removed, or Banned.

3. Moderation notifications
Owners and moderators can choose to receive an email notification every time a new report is submitted in their community.
To turn this on or off, click on your profile picture, click Settings (1), and select Notifications (2) from the left menu. Toggle the Notify me when a new report is created (3) option according to your preference.
