How to build your contact list using a sales funnel
In this article, you will learn how to build your contact list using a sales funnel.
You will need:
- an active systeme.io account
- a sales funnel
- a squeeze page
Step 1: Creating a form
1.1. Creating a form on a page
Open the Editor of your squeeze page by clicking "Edit page" button:
Find the "Form input" element among the available elements in the Form section of the editor and drag it to your page:
Click on the field to open its settings, then select the type of data that you would like to collect via this field from the dropping list "Input type". You can also input a placeholder description that will be available to your leads in the "Placeholder" field.
If you would like to collect additional information about your leads, you can add more fields to the form in the same way:
Note: if you want to build an email list, at least one "Email" field should be present in your form.
1.1. Creating a form on a pop-up
In order to add a pop-up to your squeeze page, access the editor and click on "Popups", then on "Add popup":
The pop-up will then be added to your page. Click on the "Edit popup settings" button to edit it:
You can now customize your pop-up form like a regular page.
In order to create a redirection to the pop-up, you will need to access the settings of the button on your squeeze page (1) and set it as follows (2):
- Action when button clicked: "Show popup"
- Popup: select the relevant popup from the list.
Step 2: Setting up a button
To make sure that your contacts' email addresses are added to your contact list, add a "Button" element from the editor under your form on a squeeze page or pop-up:
After that, click on the button and proceed with the configuration:
The "Action when button clicked" should always be "Send form", if you want to save the information about your leads to the contact list.
Important: this action will make your "Email" form field mandatory. Make sure that you have it on your page or pop-up before saving, otherwise, the following error will be displayed: What does it mean when the error "At least one email input is required" is displayed on one of your pages?
The "Do you want to redirect users after contact registration?" field has three main parameters:
1. "To the next step": this setting redirects the lead to the next step in the funnel.
2. "To the custom URL": this setting will redirect the lead to the custom URL of your choice (you will have to specify it in the field "Redirection URL").
3. "No redirection": the lead will remain on the same page.
Note: if you want to ask for a lead's confirmation to be presented in your contact list, you can enable the double opt-in feature. After subscribing to your form, your contacts will be sent confirmation emails.
If the contact has not clicked on the confirmation link within 24 hours of registering, it's automatically deleted.
