How to build your contact list using a funnel

In this article, you will learn how to build your contact list using a funnel.

You will need:

• An active systeme.io account
• A sales funnel
• An opt-in page

Step 1: Creating a form

1.1. Creating a form on a page

Open the editor of your opt-in page by clicking the Edit page button:

Find the Form input element on the Form section of the sidebar and drag-and-drop it to your page:

Click on the field to display its settings on the left, then select the type of information that you would like to collect by setting the Input type.

You can also write the Placeholder description that will be visible to your leads before filling the field.

If you would like to collect additional information from your leads, you can add more fields to the form in the same way:

Note: For your form to successfully capture leads, it must contain at least one Email field.

1.2. Creating a form on a popup

To add a popup to your opt-in page, access the editor and click on Popups, then on the plus (+) icon:

The popup will then be added to your page. Click on the Edit popup settings button to edit it:

You can now customize your popup form just like a regular page.

To display the popup when a button is clicked, open the button's settings and configure it as follows:

• Action when button is clicked: Show popup
• Popup: select the relevant popup from the list.

Step 2: Setting up a button

To ensure your contacts' email addresses are added to your contact list, drag and drop a Button element onto your form (either on the page or inside a popup):

After that, click on the button and proceed with the following configuration:

The Action when button clicked option should always be set to Submit form to successfully capture leads in the contact list of your account.

Important: this action requires that an email form field be added. Make sure that you have it on your page or popup before saving; otherwise, the following error will be displayed: What does it mean when the error "At least one email input is required" is displayed on one of your pages?

The "Do you want to redirect users after contact registration?" option has three main parameters:

1. To the next step: this will redirect the lead to the next step in the funnel.

2. To the custom URL: this will redirect the lead to the custom URL of your choice (you will have to specify it in the Redirection URL field).

3. No redirection: the lead will remain on the page and you can write a text that will appear after opt-in.

Note: If you want your leads to confirm their subscription in order to be added to your contact list, you can enable the double opt-in option. After subscribing to your form, your contacts will receive a confirmation email containing a link they must click.

If a contact does not click the link within 24 hours of receiving the email, they will be automatically deleted from your list.
