How to set up a test email address to check your emails
On this page, we will see how to send a test email to your email address.
What you will need :
- a systeme.io account
- a verified test email address
Preliminaries:
When creating "Newsletters" or "Campaigns" emails on systeme.io, it is possible to receive a test email in order to get a preview of your email content.
This email will be sent to the test email address configured in your account's email settings. You can set up an unlimited number of test email addresses.
To set up an email address, navigate to your menu by clicking on your "Profile image", then on "Settings" (number 1 in the image), and select "Emails". (number 2 in the image)
It is necessary to have the test email address you intend to use confirmed.
You should navigate to the "Verified email address" tab (number 3 in the image), then "Click here to confirm your email address" and add the email address of your choice. (number 4 in the image)
You are free to use any email address of your choice, without any restrictions, including Yahoo, Gmail, and others.
You will receive an email in the inbox of the test email address currently being confirmed, on which there is a link to confirm it. (number 5 in the image)
This confirmation is necessary in order to ensure that the email address that will receive the tests belongs to the account owner or at least that they have permission to use it.
The aim is to avoid spamming any email address.
Finally, modify the "Email address" field in the "Test" section. (number 6 in the image)
In our fight against spammers, you can use five (5) test email addresses per week.
Exceeding this quota, you can continue to send test emails to already configured email addresses, but not use others temporarily.
Send a test email for a newsletter:
First, go to the newsletter for which you want to receive the test email.

Another method:
You can also change the test email address directly from the editor of your newsletter or your campaign email.
Once in the editor of your email, click the "Save and test" button. (number 9 in the image)
A pop-up will appear, and you will be able to change the default email address for receiving the test email. (number 10 in the image)
You can enter a confirmed or unconfirmed email address, and you’ll be able to confirm it. (number 11 in the image)
Important:
- It is currently not possible to send a test email to an email that is configured on an automation rule or workflow.
- It is recommended to use a test email address different from the one used for sending your emails, in order to avoid deliverability problems.
- Substitution variables will not be replaced when sending a test email, therefore, we recommend sending a real email if you want to have a view of the rendering, including the replacement of substitution variables.
